Application Process for the Intense Program for International Students

Application Process

1. Application Date and Method

  1. Application date:From November 8, 2024 (Friday) to November 24, 2024 (Sunday).

  2. Application method:All applications must be submitted online, Please go to「Foreign Students Admission System」,and upload the required document review materials.

  3. For foreign students applying for admission, our school does not charge any application fees.

2. Upload the required written review materials

Please follow the system instructions to upload the following required written review materials in PDF format.

  1.  Please upload a copy of your passport or proof of nationality. If you are applying for the Foreign Student Merit-based Scholarship, a copy of your passport is required

  2.  Educational documents: This includes your highest level of education certificate or equivalent qualification and transcripts for all years. If the documents are in a language other than Chinese or English, you must provide a translated copy in Chinese or English. 

    1.  For qualifications from Mainland China : You must follow the regulations outlined in the "Measures for the Recognition of Academic Qualifications from Mainland China" for processing.

    2.  For qualifications from Hong Kong or Macau : You must follow the regulations outlined in the "Measures for the Submission and Recognition of Academic Qualifications from Hong Kong and Macau" for processing.

    3.  Applicants with equivalent academic qualifications must meet the standards for recognition of equivalent academic qualifications as announced by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan, specifically the "Standards for Recognizing Equivalent Academic Qualifications for University Admission."

※Note 1:If the highest academic degree or equivalent qualification and transcript from a foreign school issued by the original school are submitted, and the university has doubts about the authenticity of the submitted documents, the university may request additional documents, such as proof verified by overseas institutions.

※Note 2:After obtaining admission approval, when completing the registration process, the applicant must submit the graduation certificate and transcript (with certification stamp copy) verified by Taiwan's overseas institutions, or institutions designated or commissioned by the Executive Yuan or authorized private organizations, in order to complete the registration for admission

  1.  Sufficient financial proof for studying in Taiwan: A statement issued by a financial institution within the last 3 months (at least equivalent to NT$100,000 or USD 3,500 per year), or proof of full scholarship provided by the government, universities, or private organizations. 

※ The financial proof required for student application must be issued by a bank or other financial institution in the form of a deposit certificate. The financial proof is not limited to current or fixed deposits. If the financial proof is issued in the applicant's name, it must have a bank stamp. If issued in the parent's name, it must be accompanied by notarized documents. However, if proof of full scholarship from the government, universities, or private organizations is provided, this requirement is waived.

※ If the applicant is admitted but fails to submit sufficient financial proof before registration, their admission will be canceled

  1. Document Submission Checklist: The applicant must print, read, fill out, and sign the checklist in the system, then scan it into a PDF file for upload. (Attachment 2)

  2. Health Certificate: Issued by a hospital within the last 6 months (reference format in Attachment 8).

※ This can be submitted after confirmation of admission, but before registration. Failure to submit it will result in the cancellation of admission. Applicants who do not meet health requirements will be handled in accordance with the 'Immigration Act' and 'Regulations on the Permission of Stay, Residence, and Permanent Residence of Foreigners.'

  1. Chinese or English Personal Statement (300–1000 words, reference format in Attachment 3).

  2. Chinese or English Study Plan (reference format in Attachment 4).

  3. Chinese Language Proficiency Certificate: Must pass the 'National Chinese Language Testing Committee's Chinese Proficiency Test' (TOCFL) at the Basic Level (A2 level) or an equivalent Chinese proficiency test. By the second year of study, the applicant must achieve TOCFL Intermediate Level (B1 level) or above.

  4. Other documents required by each department.

  5. Affidavit: The applicant must print, read, fill out, and sign the affidavit in the system, then scan it into a PDF file for upload. (Attachment 5)

  6. Authorization Letter: The applicant must print, read, fill out, and sign the authorization letter in the system, then scan it into a PDF file for upload. (Attachment 6) 

  7. Foreign Student Scholarship Application Form: The applicant must print, read, fill out, and sign the application form in the system, then scan it into a PDF file for upload. (Attachment 7)

Other Application Notes

  1. If the documents submitted by foreign students for admission are found to be forged, falsified, altered, or otherwise fraudulent, their admission will be revoked. If they have already registered, their student status will be canceled, and no academic certificates will be issued. If such issues are discovered after graduation, the university will revoke their graduation status and invalidate their degree certificate. 

  2. If a foreign student establishes household registration, transfers household registration, or applies for naturalization or restoration of Republic of China nationality during their study period in Taiwan, they will lose their status as a foreign student and will be required to withdraw. 

  3. Foreign students who are dismissed due to poor conduct or academic performance, or due to criminal convictions resulting in a final judgment, are not allowed to reapply for admission. If this regulation is violated and proven, their admission will be revoked or they will be expelled.

  4. Students who are publicly admitted must submit the enrollment consent form within the deadline specified in the admissions guide. Failure to submit the required documents or respond by the deadline will be considered as a withdrawal, and the spot will be given to a waitlisted applicant. 

  5. At the time of registration, foreign students must submit proof of medical and accident insurance that covers at least six months from the date of entry into Taiwan. Current students must submit proof of enrollment in Taiwan's National Health Insurance or other relevant insurance. If the insurance is issued abroad, it must be verified by a Taiwan diplomatic mission.

  6. At the time of registration, foreign students who have completed less than one-third of the current academic year's first semester can begin their studies in that semester. Those who have completed more than one-third of the semester will register for the second semester or the following academic year. 

  7. All application documents will not be returned. Please keep copies for your own reference.

  8. In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act, the university will collect and store applicants' personal data for the purpose of handling admissions. The university is responsible for the proper management of personal data and will only use it for admissions-related matters. By applying, the applicant agrees to authorize the university to use their personal and related academic data for the purpose of processing admissions and related activities.

  9. Applicants who have doubts about the admission results may fill out the "Foreign Student Admission Appeal Form" (the format of the appeal form is detailed in the appendix). The appeal must be submitted in writing within 7 days after the announcement of the admission list, stating the specific reasons and providing supporting documents to the university's Admissions Committee. The university will process the appeal according to relevant regulations. Appeals without a name will not be processed.

  10. In case of any discrepancy in meaning between the Chinese version and the English translation of this brochure, the Chinese version shall prevail. For matters not covered, they shall be handled in accordance with relevant regulations and the decisions of the university's Admissions Committee.

※Foreign students applying to study at this university must prepare the required documents and comply with the relevant regulations as specified in the latest「Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan」published on the Ministry of Education's website. Applicants are advised to regularly check the Ministry of Education's website for updates.
