1. Required Documents for Application

Valid Passport:

  10. Previous Passport Holders: Applicants who have held a previous passport should submit it. If you cannot submit your old passport due to loss or other reasons, you can provide a record of your entry and exit history over the years.

  12. Proof of Financial Capability: Evidence showing sufficient funds to cover the first year's tuition and living expenses, as well as all educational expenses in the U.S.

2. Application Notes

  1. The non-immigrant visa inquiry window is open from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

  2. U.S. visa applications are numerous throughout the year, so students should schedule their interview online as early as possible (appointments can be canceled or rescheduled if necessary).

  3. The consular officer may conduct the interview in Chinese, but all application documents (except the passport and student ID) should have English translations.

  4. Dress neatly and comfortably for the interview; avoid excessive dressing up or heavy makeup.

  5. During the interview, only submit your passport, application forms, and I-20 to the consular officer. The officer will request additional documents if needed.

  6. If your educational expenses are being sponsored by someone else, you should provide documentation explaining your relationship with the sponsor.

3. Fees

  1. Visa Application Fee: NT$4,300. Applicants must pay this fee before applying for a visa at our association. The postal remittance account number is 19189005, account name: Bank of America Special Account for Collecting Visa Application Fees for AIT. Each applicant must submit an original postal remittance receipt.

  2. Additional Service Fee for the Data Processing Center: NT$320. The postal remittance account number is 19832104, account name: Taiwan Telecommunication Technology Corp. When you come to the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) to apply for a visa, please bring the service fee remittance receipt.

  3. SEVIS I-901 Fee: US$200 (F-1), US$180 (J-1). F, M (student), or J (exchange visitor) visa applicants holding I-20 or DS-2019 forms issued on or after September 1, 2004, must pay the SEVIS fee, approximately US$200, before applying for a visa. When you come to the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) to apply for a visa, please bring the SEVIS fee receipt.

1. Application Procedure

Applicants are required to bring a photocopy of the information page of their passport to the Visa Section of the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei, where they will receive instructions for medical examination. Students will be given a student file number, which should be noted and indicated on their application documents.

Correct fees should be remitted to the account of the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei (no refunds will be made after submission). Student permit fee: NT$3,500

Europe

1. Required Documents

  1. Passport (valid for more than 2 years)

  2. Visa application form, 1 original and 1 copy

  3. Two recent color passport photos (taken within the last three months). Please affix one photo to the application form. The photo should be a recent, color, 2-inch, full-face, clear, front-view portrait with a white background. Sunglasses, composite photos, or snapshots are not accepted.

  4. Visa application declaration form

  5. Copy of both sides of your ID card or Alien Residence Permit

  6. Educational qualifications: Original English graduation certificate of the highest academic level; for university graduates, two copies of the English version of the university transcript are required. The original documents will be returned after verification, along with two copies.

  7. Proof of university admission, original document to be returned after verification, along with two copies.

  8. English criminal record certificate, valid for 6 months after application, obtainable from the Foreign Affairs Police Department. 1 original and 1 copy. Foreign Affairs Police Department address: No. 96, Yanping South Road, Taipei City. Phone: (02) 2331-3561.

  9. Non-ROC citizens must provide an English version of overseas travel insurance, including coverage for emergency medical assistance. The original document will be returned after verification, along with two copies.

  10. Financial guarantee letter or German guarantee declaration (Verpflichtungserklaerung), with proof of deposit of at least 7,716 euros (the amount must have been in the account for at least three months).

2. Application Notes

  1. Visa fee is 60 euros (approximately NT$2,700 according to the current exchange rate of 1:45). Please pay in New Taiwan Dollars according to the exchange rate announced by the German Institute in Taiwan. The fee is non-refundable if the visa application is not approved or withdrawn.

  2. Visa application must be done in person.

  3. Visa processing takes 6-8 working days.

Asia

Essential Documents for Application

  1. Visa application form (Please attach 2 recent color photos within the last 6 months).

  2. Original and photocopy of passport.

  3. Qualification Requirement:

    • (1) Original and photocopy of acceptance letter from a college or university (Original will be returned upon verification); or (2) Photocopy of approval letter from the competent education administrative authority at all levels; or (3) Original and photocopy of school admission permit (Original will be returned upon verification).

  4. Original and photocopy of a health examination certificate issued by a designated domestic or overseas hospital approved by the Ministry of Health and Welfare within the recent 3 months (Original will be returned upon verification). For health examination certificates issued overseas, they must be authenticated by a Republic of China (Taiwan) embassy or consulate.

  5. Other relevant documents as required for financial proof, purpose of visit to Taiwan, and guarantees from related persons in Taiwan, etc.

  6. Visa application should be submitted by the applicant to their home country, permanent residency location, or the Republic of China (Taiwan) embassy or consulate where they belong.

2.Important Points for Application

  1. Residence visa application fee is NT$2,200 (USD$66); relative processing fee is NT$4,323 (USD$131), currently applicable only to US citizens. For applicants in Taiwan who apply to change from visitor visa to residence visa, an additional special handling fee of NT$800 (USD$24) will be charged.

  2. Applicants entering Taiwan with visa or landing visa, or those holding visitor visas for purposes other than studying, are not allowed to request a change to a residence visa or apply for an extension of stay for the purpose of studying. Exchange students or students enrolled in associate programs are not permitted to apply for visas for study purposes.

1.Essential Documents for Application

  1. One copy of the Visa Application Form.

Please fill in the correct telephone number of the applicant (If the current address is different from the address on the ID card, please attach the correct address and telephone number), and please sign by hand (the signature on the form and passport must be the same).

  1. One 2-inch color photo (Do not use digital camera photos or composite photos), half-body, front view, no hat, ears visible, light-colored background, no military or police uniforms, or sunglasses.

  2. Photocopy of ID card: One copy each of the front and back of the national ID card.

  3. Certificate of Residence Status: One original (front and back) and one photocopy.

  4. Original final graduation certificate.

  5. Passport: Passport valid for more than six months (If the old passport has visa records, it must be submitted together).

  6. In principle, it can be collected on the day after the application; if there are more applicants, it may take 2 working days.

  7. The application form must be submitted and collected by the applicant in person, with a fee of NT$900.

2.Important Points for Application

  1. If the passport is damaged, defaced, or altered, please apply for a new passport before applying for a Japanese visa.

  2. Applicants who are not in their home country are not allowed to apply for a Japanese visa in their home country.

  3. If there are commemorative stamps inside the passport, please apply for a new passport before applying for a visa.

  4. Japanese visa applications are subject to daily limits. If there are time constraints or other factors, applicants may be required to apply for the visa in person. Therefore, it is recommended to apply as early as possible.

2.Application Notes

  1. To work or study in Malaysia, one must first apply to the Immigration Department through the Malaysian company or school. Upon approval, the Malaysian Immigration Department will notify the applicant's local embassy or consulate to issue a social visit visa. After arriving in Malaysia, the corresponding long-term visa can be obtained from the Immigration Department.For studying at Malaysian universities, the application needs to be made through the school to the headquarters of the Immigration Department.

  2. The Student Pass is issued to students enrolled in Malaysian educational institutions. The duration of stay is generally 6 to 12 months and can be extended upon expiration.

  3. Student entry qualifications:

    1. Acceptance to study full-time courses (including English courses) at public or private higher education institutions.

    2. Financial capability to pay tuition and living expenses.

    3. Must not have the intention to work in Malaysia and must leave Malaysia upon completion of the course.

1.Essential Documents for Application

  • For new applicants:

  4. The application fee for a new document is approximately NT$1700. If the Taiwan Compatriot Permit (台胞證) is still valid but is reissued, it will be returned, and a handling fee of NT$100 will be charged.

  5. Application Institution: Various major travel agencies. The permit will be issued approximately 10 working days after application.

  • Additional Endorsement: Holders of a valid Taiwan Compatriot Permit can directly go to "China Travel Service" at airports in Hong Kong or Macau to process the endorsement. The fee for each additional endorsement is approximately NT$600.

二、Application Notes

  1. The validity period of the Taiwan Compatriot Permit is five years. Residents of Taiwan must hold a valid Taiwan Compatriot Permit and apply for entry endorsements step by step before traveling to mainland China.

  2. Newly issued permits allow a stay of up to 3 months, but departure must occur before the expiry date. If an extension is needed beyond the expiry date, it can be processed at the local public security bureau.

  3. A Taiwan Compatriot Permit is only required for travel to mainland China, and an additional endorsement is necessary each time before use.

2.Application Notes

  1. Students applying for Bachelor's programs can choose to apply for an e-student visa online or a regular student visa; students applying for Diploma programs can only apply for a regular student visa.

  2. Difference between e-student visa and regular student visa:

E-student visa:

  • Requires fewer documents. Apart from the need to apply online first and then print out the form for medical examination at a designated hospital, all procedures can be done online in English; there will be no visa sticker on the passport, and visa information needs to be printed out for entry and exit from Australia.

Regular student visa:

   Requires more documents and also requires a medical examination at a designated hospital before submitting the necessary documents to the Australian Commerce and Industry Office in Taipei. If there are any doubts in filling out the information, the office will usually contact the student to confirm the information.

  2. The processing time for visa applications is 5 working days. However, the processing time for some visa applications may exceed 5 working days, so please submit your application as early as possible to avoid delaying your travel plans.
