Admission Scholarships and Grants

Eligible Applicants：

New international students with official enrollment at our university (excluding those enrolled in international special programs, students from Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China, as well as exchange students) who have not received scholarships from any government agency of our country.

Scholarship and Grant Methods：

1. PhD students are exempt from tuition and fees for the first and second years of study at the university. Other international students are exempt from tuition and fees for the first year of study. Master's students admitted as preparatory research students are exempt from tuition and fees for the first semester.

2. Master's students who enroll from the second semester of the 110th academic year (inclusive) and have completed registration will receive an additional scholarship of NT$5,000 per semester (up to a maximum of 4 semesters; for Master's students admitted as preparatory research students, up to a maximum of 2 semesters).

Application Procedure：

After international new students complete the registration process, the Office of International Affairs will compile a list and coordinate with the Office of Student Affairs for submission to the university president for approval.

Scholarships for Foreign Students

To encourage active learning of Chinese among international master's students at our university, to enhance their Chinese proficiency, academic performance, and competitiveness in the job market, this scholarship is established.

Recipients of the Scholarship：

Eligible applicants include foreign students with official enrollment at our university, who are master's students admitted from the second semester of the 110th academic year onwards (excluding international special programs, students from Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, and exchange students), and have not received scholarships from any government agency of our country. Bachelor's degree holders, four-year program students, and master's students must have completed at least two semesters of study at our university (including preparatory research students for master's programs, who must have completed at least one semester of study) in order to be eligible to apply (excluding graduated students, students on leave of absence, and those extending their studies).

Number of Applications：

Starting from the third semester, each applicant may apply once per semester. For master's students admitted as preparatory research students, starting from the second semester of enrollment, they may apply once per semester.

Examinations：

The Language Center of our university holds two Chinese proficiency tests every semester. Foreign master's and bachelor's students are required to participate in one of these tests per semester, but they are not allowed to repeat the same test. Starting from the third semester, the scores from the previous two semesters will be used as pre-test scores.

1. The scores from the previous semester, as well as the scores from the semester before that, will be used as post-test scores.

2. Master's students admitted as preparatory research students must participate in the Chinese proficiency test organized by the Language Center during the current semester when applying for master's programs at our university.

Category：

1. This scholarship is divided into full scholarship and half scholarship.

2. The scholarship is awarded based on the same nationality, the same semester (spring or fall), and the same educational level (no comparison between students of different nationalities).

Review Criteria and Methods for Scholarships：

1. Full Scholarship：Covers the full tuition and fees for the semester.

   1. Master's Students: Submit applications for the third and fourth semesters.

   2. Bachelor's Students: Submit applications starting from the third semester.

   3. For Master's students admitted as preparatory research students: Submit applications in the second semester. Applicants must have achieved a score of B1 or above in the Chinese proficiency test.

2. Half Scholarship: Covers half of the tuition and fees for the semester.

   1. Master's Students: Submit applications for the third and fourth semesters.

   2. Bachelor's students: Submit applications starting from the third semester.

   3. For Master's students admitted as preparatory research students: Submit applications in the second semester. Applicants must have achieved a score of A2 or above in the Chinese proficiency test.
